Micro Sim Adapter - Upsize any Micro Sim

The Micro SIM adapter (Converter) allows you to use the newest MicroSIM (3ff, mini-UICC) cards in both iPad or iPhone 4 and your normal mobile phone with no additional equipment.

What is Micro Sim Adapter?

A SIM card is the little chip in a GSM cell phone that holds your subscriber information. A micro SIM, also known as a 3FF or "third form factor" SIM, is a smaller version of a SIM card that holds the same data, but is not physically compatible with larger SIM cards (2FF, "second form factor") like the ones used by mobile operators. Micro SIM was released due to the need of very small cards designed for devices whose secondary purpose would be to communicate, such as the digital cameras or watches. As Micro SIM chip is more technically advanced than the one in standard SIM, contact area remains the same and backward compatibility is preserved. The result is that the third form factor is a smaller version of the existing plug-in card, with much of the excess plastic cut away, but in such a way as not to impose restrictions on the chip size.

Make your own Micro Sim card

Traditional SIMs measure 15 x 25mm and have angled corner. The new micro-SIM is officially 12 x 15mm. That’s effectively the size of just the normal SIM contact area. Why Micro Sim Adapter?

While the news of Apple's iPad having 3G wasn't exactly a surprise, the move to a new format for the SIM certainly was. Untill the release of iPad 3G , the microSIM card was used only in marginal GSM products such as watches. New smaller form factor allows MicroSIM to fit in these tiny devices. There is absolutely no clue what justification Apple had to switch to this new format. The advantage is that chips of both new MicroSIM and "old" standart SIM (also called MiniSIM) are compatible. However size is different. With the new MicroSIM Adaptor you will be able to change SIMs between new (iPad, iPhone 4) and other GSM devices (phones, modem, etc.). How long will it take for me to receive my order?

Most orders are shipped within 24 hours upon payment received. We ship from our offices in United Kingdom and Baltic states (Eastern Europe). We can guarantee the fastest shipping to UK (1-2 days), Germany (2-3 days), France and most of the European countries. Most customers have reported that they receive their products anywhere from two days to ten days after ordering. While that has been the case of customers ordering from the European Countries some other overseas destination like USA, Japan, Australia can take up to two weeks. If you feel your order is taking an unusually long time to arrive, please email us and we will research your order for you.

Do you offer express shipping?

We use the Postal mail as shipping method for our products. The letters are not insured due to the high costs. Registered mail can be provided at an extra cost of £1.00 per shipment. While we can understand that many customers want to receive their products right away and are even willing to pay extra for the shipping, we do not have an ability to accomodate express shipping at this time.

What about pricing?

All prices are final. All shipping and wrapping fees are already included. There is no hidden costs or any extra costs for international shipment.

Why do I need MicroSIM Adapter?

If you have a data plan/service with any mobil-carrier, irrespective if it is on your handphone or with a usb-modem, you are likely to have a 2G-Slot and will be unable to use the SIM card on your iPad. Or if you have an iPad or iPhone 4G with the new Micro-SIM - you will be unable to use the Micro-SIM in your iPhone. There will be devices such as mobile-phones, datasticks, usb-modems, notebooks and similar, with old or new slots in the market and you will not be able to interchange SIM-Cards between those devices unless you use a Micro-SIM with an adapter.

Since each order of iDecal™ Cases come as a set of two wraps, can I get two different colors with my order?

We ship iDecal™ Cases as sets of two for a couple of reasons. First, since each iDecal™ Case by itself is very narrow, sending them in pairs helps reduce the possibility of the wraps getting twisted and damaged in shipping. Second, having two iDecal™ cases of the same color will come in handy in case you should have any issues installing your first one. However if you need to have 2 different colors in 1 set we can ship it, just leave a message together with purchse.

What about responsibility of any malfunction?

All our products are tested before shipping. The MicroSIM Adapter was tested on plenty of GSM mobile phones. However it is not possible to test it on all devices. The adaptor might not work on specific GSM hardware. Your mobile operator can regulate usage of the SIM cards in particular devices by contract. For detail conditions please contact your mobile operator. We do not takes any responsibility of any malfunctions and/or damages incurred by the usage of the products. Use the products at your own risk.
